Infrared Thermography is the graphic
characterization of temperature (non destructive, non invasive and
without contact) of the surface of an object. It is usually used
to diagnose the thermal behavior and this way to be able to measure
the operation of an equipment and the integrity of the materials,
products and processes. The device used to obtain these images of
temperature (thermograms) is the thermal imager; which transforms
the infrared (invisible to our eyes) images in visible images.
With the infrared thermography we can find
problems like:
It overloads
in electric motors and windings.
It overloads in the windings
of electric generators.
Reinforcement contact.
Unions with high resistance.
Corroded connections, slack or inadequate.
Fusible faulty.
Abnormal temperatures of operation in transformers.
